Owning It: Why I'm Finally Saying It Out Loud

Hey there,

How has your week been?

This week I had one of those moments that stopped me in my tracks.

A piece of client feedback landed in my inbox: “The best trainer we’ve ever had.”

And instead of brushing it off (as I might have done in the past), I let myself sit with it. I thought: actually… yes. I really am that good.

But here’s the thing: it’s taken me years to get here.

I’ve poured thousands of hours into learning and training. From psychotherapy and coaching qualifications, to reading until my eyes sting, to turning up to workshops on a Saturday morning when I’d far rather be in bed. I’ve invested as much in my growth as some people spend on designer wardrobes.

Why? Because the responsibility is huge.

When I stand in front of 50 leaders, I’m not just “delivering content.” I’m holding space for transformation. That’s not something you wing. That’s something you prepare for, like your life depends on it.

And there’s another part too - something we don’t talk about enough in the UK: owning it.

We’re so worried about seeming arrogant that we hide our strengths. But meanwhile, plenty of mediocre voices are shouting loudest.

So here’s my reminder for you today:

- If you’ve done the work, own the result.

- If you’re brilliant, say it.

- If you change lives, shout about it.

Because you can only be this good at something you’re obsessed with. Something that feels like your life’s work.

So yes, I’ll say it: I am the best trainer they’ve ever had. And I’ve earned it.

What about you?

What are you brilliant at, and when will you start owning it?

Love,
