Hey there,
How's your week been? Mine has felt very full, and I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind.
This week I had the absolute joy of spending time with a brilliant team, delivering a session that reminded me exactly why I started PUSH over a decade ago.
Because if I’d heard this stuff back then, man, it really could have changed so many things!
What I'm talking about here is resilience.
And the reason I want to share my thinking is because I don’t think it means what we think it means.
It’s not about gritting your teeth and soldiering on. That’s not strength – that’s survival mode. And it’s often where burnout begins.
Real resilience is something else entirely.
It’s about choice.
- The choice to focus on what’s in your control
- The choice to challenge the stories running wild in your mind
- The choice to pause, reset, and re-frame, rather than react
The pace, pressure, and last-minute chaos? Still very real. But what can shift is the way we show up in response to it all.
In the session we explored:
- What really triggers your stress response
- How to anchor into what you can control
- The stories we tell ourselves when we’re under pressure - and change them!
- How to pull together as a team when it counts
- And how success often lives inside the most challenging moments, when we take time to define what it looks like
This isn’t about doing more. It’s about feeling better while you do it. And that is something we actually have control over.
I’d love to know your thoughts – does the word resilience feel empowering or a bit toxic to you?
Have a wonderful week, friends.
