Hey there!
I hope you've had a super productive week.
I posted something on LinkedIn and man, it really took off... and not entirely in the way I expected!
The post was about whether ChatGPT could be used as a therapist.
My answer? 'Yes - 100%… but.'
Turns out, that line sparked a lot of debate!
Some people were curious and open to it. Others were... well, deeply offended. Some thought I was undermining the years of training, care, and presence that a human therapist brings.
So let me be really clear:
I absolutely do not believe that AI can replace the depth, emotional attunement, and expertise of a trained therapist or coach, of which I firmly place myself within.
However, I do believe it can support the work we’re doing - and be part of the solution for the hundreds of millions of people who don’t currently have access to mental health support.
And, man, the need for it is coming for us like a tsunami.
Because let’s be honest - people are already using AI like this. It’s free. It’s accessible. It’s 24/7. And it’s not going away.
So the real question is: How do we use it wisely? Ethically? Safely?
How can we combine the power of human insight with the consistency and scalability of tech?
That’s the conversation I want to be part of.
At PUSH, we're actively exploring how AI can enhance our programmes - not replace them.
Imagine combining the clarity and connection of a great coaching session with the accountability and self-reflection of an AI tool you can use every single day.
That’s where I think we’re headed. And I'm completely and utterly up for it.
I’d love to know what you think. Do reach out - especially if you’re curious, concerned, or working on something similar.
Have a wonderful week, friends.
