Oh hello there,
I hope your week has been rich!
Now, here's a question for you: Do you ever feel like you're not doing enough? Like no matter what you accomplish, there’s still more you should be doing?
If so, you’re not alone.
That nagging feeling - the one that tells you to work harder, push further, and never stop - can be relentless. It convinces us that we’re falling behind, that we’re not measuring up, that we should be doing more. But what’s actually happening here?
At its core, this feeling comes from our brain’s attempt to keep us safe and motivated. It’s trying to protect us, to push us forward. But instead of feeling inspired, we often end up stuck in a strange kind of limbo - never satisfied, always chasing, constantly being told we’re not quite enough.
So let me ask you this: What would 'enough' actually look like?
Seriously - pause for a moment and let your brain answer that question. What does 'enough' actually mean to you?
Firstly, it gets your brain out of bully mode and into solver mode. What it also does is get you thinking 'is what I'm beating myself up about actually realistic? Or is it a moving target that will literally never be fulfilled?'
I know my brain’s version of 'enough' would have me working 12, 13, 14 hours a day, only then would it give me peace. But the reality is that I would never actually want that for myself!
So maybe it’s time to step in and pay some attention to managing our brains a little better rather than letting them run riot with their negative and well-worn thought patterns.
What if you were already doing enough and, what if, right now, you let yourself believe that? Something to think about.
Have a wonderful week!
